Lift High the Cross (6) The Cross Presumed

Message Notes.

This week we visited St. Pauls in Melacca, set on the hill overlooking the city, the final step of our journey was the largest. Likewise, today we climb that last step to the pinnacle of divine revelation. One the way up, we learned of God’s planning of the cross, his promise of it (to the serpent), his provision of it (Mt. Moriah), his picturing of it (in the law), and his prophesying of it through Isaiah. We look at how Jesus presumed it in verse 14.

“And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

-John 3:14-16
